Proverbs 27:17

If you would like to connect with Discipleship at TFC, contact Bob or Joan Anderson at 503.635.2513. They are overseeing the ministry and will connect you with a mentor that best fits your circumstances and goals.

The discipleship ministry is available to all ages, teenagers as well as any adults. No matter what your level of maturity, discipleship provides an opportunity for a deeper faith.

The goal of discipleship at TFC is to provide connections between people who desire to grow in their faith with mature, tested believers who live reproducible lifestyles.

What is provided:
• An opportunity to openly interact on the core issues of our Christian faith with the goal of Christ-likeness.
• Accountability for individuals who want break-through on a particular issue.

What you can expect in the discipleship process:
• Christ-centered relationship
• Prayer
• Confidentiality
• Commitment
• Open and honest communication
• Respect of differences
• Celebration and fun

What is not provided:
• This is not a counseling ministry. If you desire counseling, there are many good Christian counselors we can refer you to. The goal of this ministry is to come alongside the disciple to encourage their faith through discipling.

This ministry is for you if:
• Being discipled has been a missing piece in your walk with Christ.
• You are serious about your faith and you've desired to have a person to encourage and challenge you in your faith.
• You feel like you have been in a spiritual rut and need some direction in your journey of faith.

The disciplers serve as a tutor or a coach. They are made up of men and women who have volunteered to share their perspective of God's word, partner through prayer, and provide accountability for those wanting to be discipled. None of them are perfect, but they do have a faith that has been tested and proven.

A disciple is defined as someone who is an "imitator of the teacher." Jesus calls all believers to be His disciples. The disciple is applying the concept of "learning by seeing." As the Apostle Paul said, "Imitate me, just as I also imitate Christ."
1 Corinthians 11:1
