Prophecy...

Another Perspective of "Christ in Me"

Last Sunday's sermon emphasized that Christ lives in believers, if he lives in our hearts, is He 3 or 4 inches tall? Does He fill more of us than just a corner of our heart, where is his special place in our lives?

I was pondering the above questions and recalled a very special vision I was privileged to see about three years ago. There was a small group of believers gathered together at Dan and Kay Berryman’s home for praise and worship. While we were giving glory to God, I was shown that the hands of Jesus fit exactly inside of Kay’s hands. His arms were inside her arms, His eyes were inside her eyes and saw what she saw, His feet fit perfectly inside her feet and went where she walked. She was completely filled with Jesus. He even played us a song of praise when Kay allowed him to take over. The song was a heavenly melody no one had ever heard and it was also played in a key that Kay never used because of its difficulty.

If the above vision is how and where Jesus lives in us, consider the following:

  • Would we look at things we’re not supposed to be looking at, if it was offensive to Jesus?
  • Would we let our feet take us into places of sin and force Jesus to go along?
  • Would we listen to things that made Him cringe?
  • Would we yield to temptation with our hands and make Him a part of our evil nature?
  • Would we yield to temptation with other parts of our body and make him a part of our sin?

If Jesus really lives inside us, wouldn’t it be better to look at things that glorify him, to go where it pleases Him, to listen to things that build up the body of Christ? We can hug with the love of Jesus, and bring comfort with His touch. Wouldn’t we want to do only the things that please him and bring glory to His Father?

That might be what it means to have “Christ in me.”
